Our
school was the first school in Horsham. It is an open
planned school set in four hectares of spacious grounds next to the Sunnyside
Oval. We have approximately 420 students in 18
classes.
Horsham
298 Primary School is a double brick, air conditioned building originally
comprising four open planned units. These units have their own withdrawal and
wet areas. Several relocatable rooms are attached to the school. It boasts a modern Office and Uniform store
and Lunch orders are available on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Horsham
298 Primary School aims to encourage positive self concept, a sense of
belonging, purpose and self discipline through a commitment by all to
the objectives of the school.
Horsham
298 Primary School is highly regarded in the
wider community and is recognised as having:

student outcomes

The
school curriculum is based on the revised curriculum framework of the Victorian
Essential Learning Standards. It is based on three core interwoven pillars of
student learning.
"The essence
of the new
VELS is not just that all three components are required to prepare
students for the future
but that their
interaction matters as well. It is the integrated focus on knowledge, skills
and behaviours in the process of physical, personal and social growth, in
the disciplines and across the curriculum that develops deep understanding
in learners which can be transferred to new and different circumstances."
