What Makes a Good Learning Technologies

- The School Learning Technology Plan is your own school
vision.
- School Learning Technology Plan outcomes are clear.
- Staff are responsible for Learning Technology Plan and not one
person.
- Staff have ownership of the Learning Technology Plan.
- School learning technology needs are developed according to
school plans.
- Resources are purchased according to needs.
- Professional Development is determined according to your
school needs.
- Technology use follows staff expertise.
- Have patience with staff progress.
- Checklists of skills are developed in levels.
In a nutshell
- Learn the basics first. That's the starting point.
- Work in teams to learn software and develop ideas.
- Visit other schools and ask questions.
- Don't reinvent the wheel - learn from others and adapt to your
needs.
Getting
Started
The school needs to develop a representative Learning Technologies
Task Group to oversee and coordinate the Learning Technologies Plan.
The coordinator and Task Group need to provide direction and support
to the school. As a good starting point for schools I would recommend
they read Getting Started for an overview
of starting off with a School Learning Technology Plan.
